2013 NCAA Bracket Predictions Update: Kansas Bounces Back

by Matt Woods | February 12th, 2013

Kansas recently endured a well-documented rough stretch, losing three straight to Oklahoma State, TCU and Oklahoma. While Oklahoma and OSU both feature in our current 2013 NCAA bracket predictions, TCU’s current odds to make the tournament are negligible. As far as bracket predictions are concerned, losing to the Horned Frogs was rough for the Jayhawks.

One result of that three-game slide was that Kansas’ odds to land a 1-seed in our NCAA bracket predictions for 2013 fell from over 1-in-2 down to about 1-in-3. However, the Jayhawks ended that losing streak in a big way last night, pummeling their rival Kansas State, a 4-seed in our projected NCAA bracket, by 21 points.

Following that win, the Jayhawks made the biggest increase of any team in today’s NCAA tournament bracket predictions in terms of odds to land a 1-seed. Their odds rebounded back up to about 45%, and our S-curve currently ranks Kansas as the highest 2-seed in the 2013 field.

With seven games left in the regular season, though, there’s still more than enough time for KU to climb back into top seed position in our 2013 bracket predictions.
