Is the Pac-10 REALLY the Nation’s Top Conference?
For those who might have gone to bed before checking the ESPN ticker last night, chalk another one up for the little guy. St. Mary’s College, the tiny liberal arts school nestled in equally tiny Moraga, California, put on quite a show against Pac-10 power Oregon this evening. McKeon Pavilion was absolutely jam-packed and thunderous [...]
2007 Coaches vs Cancer Tournament Preview
After one nationally-televised game, I’m not going to pretend to know the ins-and-outs of Coach Rick Scruggs’ offensive and defensive systems, but I can tell you that GW pressures the ball, gets out in transition, and attacks the basket very, very well. UConn’s A.J. Price and Jerome Dyson are going to have a lot to contend with in the backcourt.
Oklahoma should provide a nice test for the 3rd-ranked Tigers. Jeff Capel, now in his second year with the Sooners, has a talented freshman in Blake Griffin. The frontcourt matchup against the Tigers should be pretty even.
Big East Projections for 2007-2008
Scott over at the New Big East Basketball Blog recently announced the results of the composite poll of power bloggers, in which I participated. The full results of his poll are here. In the interests of full disclosure, I thought I’d publish my submissions. I’d love to hear the responses of BracketNation! Keep an eye [...]

Despite two relatively lackluster semifinal games, the battle for the 2007 NCAA Championship has the potential to be an epic. The experience-laden Gators look to claim their second straight national title against a young but explosive Buckeye squad. Semifinal Supremacy: Ohio State kept Georgetown out of synch in its offensive sets all night long, making [...]

2007 NCAA Tournament: Second Weekend Recap
The 2007 Final Four is set. Florida, UCLA, Georgetown, and Ohio State combine for the lowest cumulative seed count (6) since 1993, when three #1’s and a #2 made it to the third weekend. It’s a fitting cap for a Tournament in which so many outcomes went to the favorites. If this year’s opening round [...]
