@ Christopher Mackinder. Fair enough. Just strange seeing recruit #99 but OK. As for the Gators schedule: yes it's soft out of conference, but as this team has played, they are getting better each and every game, based on the conference making us tougher. As for the earlier meeting this year, kudos to Ohio State for winning, but we won the one(or two) that counted. I just like to tease the Buckeye fans for the double championship we won against them(something I don't think will be done again.)

@ John: For the record, the only reason I put the No. 99 recruit on the list was to include the ENTIRE Buckeyes recruiting class.

And while the Buckeyes might be slightly overrated this year, at least they played a tough nonconference schedule (nonconference SOS=16with games against 'Cuse, Texas A&M, UNC, at Butler, Florida). While I really like the Gators this year, outside of playing the Buckeyes and rival Florida State, the nonconference SOS is horrid (292).

Let's not forget that, in the meeting this year between the Bucks and Gators, Ohio State won 62-49. (Yes, it was in Columbus, but holding the mighty Gators to 49 points anywhere is a major statement).

@ both. Illinois is going through a rough time, but they will be back. Ohio State to me this year is overrated. Yeah, they'll make the tournament, but they won't go very far. I bet none of those recruits is as good as Nick Calathes(yes i'm a Gators fan. Remember that Coach Matta and all Buckeyes fans.) And don't you think putting the #99 recruit on here is stretching it a little bit? lol.

@ Force: As a Michigan State fan (and married to a University of Michigan graduate) it is extremely difficult to watch the Ohio State program. It all just proves how great of a coach/recruiter Thad Matta is.

And for those who think his days of landing the Odens and Conleys for a year are over, think again. According to Rivals.com, here are the Buckeyes' current commitments for the next three years:

2008: B.J. Mullens (No. 4 overall), William Buford (No. 19), Walter Offutt (No. 99)
2009: No commitments
2010: DeShaun Thomas (No. 3), Jared Sullinger (No. 8), Trae Gordon (No. 10)

The Buckeyes will be competiting for a NCAA Championship often for the forseeable future.

As an Illini fan, I HATE that Matta is outrecruiting Weber. It won't change.

He was tremendous for Xavier and a loss many in the area didn't think could be covered for. Fortunately, Sean Miller is quite a coach in his own right.
