The truth? You made a prediction that could be as accurate as your Michigan State – Texas prediction on another post here, how is that truth?. And, I made that year comparison because that’s the teams we were comparing obviously, not this year. As far as Big 12 North goes, I just don’t think you know whats been going on. The North has sent two teams to the field of 64 other than KU the last five years, KSU last year and ISU in ’05. The talent has not been better. The coaches at the universities have changed fairly often, and it’s been crap for the most part. And the last part is somewhat addressed to you since you concurred that they are in huge trouble and speculated that they are likely headed to the NIT.

@ lol. It was not posted as a slight when I mentioned Oklahoma, Baylor and Texas. It was merely the truth and it’s a shame you didn’t see it that way. You say ’08-’09 Kansas is better than ’07-’08 Florida, but ”not so much this year.” Last I checked, wasn’t ’08-’09 this year? Yes, the coaching at Kansas has been top-flight, but to say the talent in the North ”has come and gone” is just not right. I’ll leave the last part out since that has nothing to do with me. I just think looking at the evidence that ’08-’09 Kansas is more talented than ’07-’08 Florida, not so much this year. It’s hard not to believe or read that the post about OU, BU, and UT was someway not posted as some kind of slight. The reason teams from the South have not had much success at Phog is because Kansas has always reloaded and had a very good coach there whether it be Roy Williams or Bill Self. The talent level in the North hasn’t been better than the South for at least the last five years. Kansas yes, the others no. They come and go, ie. KSU. Honestly I just offered rebuttals to in my judgment overreaction to quasi predictions at an absurd time to results that are somehow to some a huge surprise.

@ lol. That was not my sole reason. Yes, Florida plays in a tougher division than Kansas does, but my point was that I can relate to what, you, as a Kansas fan is going through. To say the two teams don’t have the same amount of talent is ridiculous. Calathes can play with anyone on KU. The advantage that Aldridge has is that he got to go up against Jackson, Kaun, Arthur, etc. in practice every day. Let’s not try to make this about Florida and Kansas. My point about the Oklahoma, Baylor and Texas games is precisely what you said, not a ”condeming fact”. The reason teams from the South haven’t won is because the talent level is always better in the North on a consistent basis, with the exception of Texas. It’s interesting that we split up the conference on here, because the conference is not. Let’s just have a friendly conversation about these teams, OK lol?

Kansas State deserves everything they get. Frank Martin is a cheater who was banned from coaching in the state of Florida.

“This is one of the most, if not the most, blatant violations of FHSAA rules against recruiting that I have encountered in my seven years as commissioner of this association,” said Ron Davis when he handed down the penalties in August 1998.

He is as sleasy as it gets. I hope they fall back off the map.

Just because Florida didn’t make it sure as hell doesn’t mean Kansas will not, because frankly that is not a good reason. Go look at the teams RSCI player rankings if you pay attention to recruiting and compare the talent. Again it was one friggen game early in the year. It won’t be the last stinker of a game they will drop either, it’s to be expected. So they wont beat three top 25 quality teams? Well two are Top 10 quality teams, and the games against OU and BU are on the road. BFD, a lot of quality teams would lose to them. Not sure what the point of that is in trying to make that as some kind of condemning fact. As far as lucky to be in the North? Maybe so in a rebuilding year like this, but since the inception of the Big 12, only one South team has won in the Phog. Texas A&M two years ago. So perhaps they are lucky to avoid coming every year.

@ lol. I am not saying we should write Kansas off. All i’m trying to say is that everyone thought we(Florida) would make the NCAA’s last year after going through what Kansas is going through this year. They lost to a bad UMass team. They won’t beat Oklahoma, Texas or Baylor. They are lucky to be in the North.
